My passions and side gigs

Alongside my therapist journey and direct clinical practice, I wear many other hats that help me stay connected to the things I love. Here are some of them:

  • I am a hospital social worker at BC Children’s Hospital in Vancouver. I provide direct clinical practice through individual, group and family therapy and interdisciplinary collaboration with hospital and community partners. I work in the Eating Disorder Day Treatment Program, 12 weeks program based on Dialectical Behavioral Therapy. My clients are 13 - 18 years old.

  • I am a Department Head of the Counselling Therapy Diploma Program, where I also teach a number of classes. I love staying connected to academia as it allows me to remain connected to evidence-based practices and motivates me to continue to learn and grow myself. I love working with motivated and enthusiastic students eager to learn and grow with an open mind. Counseling is a profession that can create harm if not done ethically. This is why I am passionate about teaching and take my teaching job very seriously.

  • I am PESI Global Partner. As a huge believer in constant professional and personal growth, I love attending trainings, summits, and conferences. As a PESI Global Partner, I receive an opportunity and access to great discounts I share with the world.

  • I am USANA Health Inc. affiliate. As a very busy mom of two school-aged children, PhD candidate, business owner, teacher, and hospital social worker, I often struggle to take all nutrients to remain healthy. I do care to maintain good gut health and mental health at the same time and USANA is helping me to do so. USANA develops and manufactures high-quality nutritional supplements, healthy foods and personal care products that meet my values and goals. I decided to collaborate with them and worked hard on becoming an affiliate. In return, as an affiliate, I collect points to travel (currently I am hoping to gather enough points to win a trip to Disney Land next year).
